BACKGROUND

Laura Clark Prasad is a professional writer and consultant based in the Metro-Detroit area, with nearly a decade of experience working with students on improving their writing skills. Laura graduated from University of Michigan-Dearborn with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Screen Studies, a minor in film studies, and a certificate in writing. She has worked in the Academic Support Center of Oakland Community College for nearly half a decade, assisting in, and facilitating, the writing process for hundreds of students over that time. Prior to that, she spent two years working in the Writing Center of University of Michigan-Dearborn in a similar position.

FUN FACTS ABOUT LAURA

• Other hobbies of mine (besides writing) include scrapbooking and collage, reading, cooking/baking, and photography.
• My favorite author is Ernest Hemingway.
• My favorite book is The Catcher in the Rye, and it has been since I was 16 years old.
• I am an activist for Manatees, a threatened aquatic species of marine mammal who live near Florida and in a few other select places around the world. Every year I run a 5K in support of the Save the Manatee initiative, and donate regularly to the cause.
• I am certified as a Reiki Master.
